A hillside is reportedly on fire this afternoon east of Elk, California, a small community along the Mendocino County Coast.
The Incident Commander reported the fire is currently a half-acre in size with low potential for spread despite earlier reports that it could grow to three acres. Air resource are attacking it slowing its spread.
The initial call out occurred at 3:08 p.m. prompting both ground and air firefighting resources to respond.
