As per a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Clear Lake Office, on 02/14/2024, around 6:00 a.m., a 67-year-old woman from Kelseyville was driving a 2019 Buick Encore eastbound on SR-281, west of SR-29. For reasons yet unknown, she steered the Buick to the left, crossed the westbound lane, and exited the south roadway. The vehicle overturned onto its left side after colliding with shrubbery.
Despite wearing a seatbelt and the airbags deploying, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The cause of death is currently under investigation and authorities have not released the identity of the driver.

What a difficult job our law enforcement faces. While I believe in using caution regarding the power we accord to LE officers, I am moved by the difficulty of their tasks and the impact it must have on each officer’s personal well-being.
