A man was shot and killed Friday night at Library Park, prompting a multi-agency search for the suspect, according to the Lakeport Police Department.
As described in a post on the agency’s social media, Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 9:18 p.m. and arrived at the scene within two minutes. They found an unconscious adult male who had been struck by gunfire. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and firefighters from the Lakeport Fire Protection District, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the shooting was not random, as witnesses indicated the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Additional officers from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol were called in to assist with the investigation and the search for the suspect.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Juan Altamirano at (707) 263-5491 ext. 102 or via email at jaltamirano@lakeportpolice.org.
Immigration status
It says the suspect was a WMA. Calm down
LOL!!! No where does it say a “white male”. However the Lakeport Police department has already released a statement they are searching for a 17 – 20 year old “Mexican” male suspect.
Racist pig!
The same as yours. So now I guess that makes it ok for you or you wouldn’t care about the status.
“?witnesses indicated the victim and the suspect knew each other.” Then they know who the suspect is
There is a 27 year old in custody on a murder charge. Booking time is listed as 12:00 am on 2/1/2025. But the second one who actually may be the shooter still at large.
Okie dokie, not sure what you’re looking at or where you get your info.
There is nothing in the Lake County recent arrest listings that matches your claim.
It’s been reported there have been no arrests made so far. They may have questioned some people. Which is a lot different than being booked on PC 187(a).
Where has ol’ Todd Peckerham been?
