[UPDATES] High-Speed Chase Underway Heading West on State Route 175 Into Mendocino County

This incident is ongoing and fluid, but initial information indicates there is an active high-speed vehicle chase on State Route 175, the precipitous route between Hopland and Lake County.

The vehicle fleeing law enforcement is a blue Mercedes that failed to yield when law enforcement attempted to pull them over for driving while intoxicated.

The car is reportedly crossed into Mendocino County from Lake County, driving into the opposing lanes, and driving erratically.

UPDATE 9:42 a.m. The vehicle is now speeding north on Highway 101 towards Ukiah. In blew through Hopland and is now being pursued by Lake County Sheriff‘s Office and the California Highway Patrol.

UPDATE 9:51 a.m.: The vehicle is now passing Ukiah exits. Officers are reporting the neighbor is exceeding speeds of 100 miles/hour.

UPDATE 10:02 a.m.: Law enforcement is reporting they have lost the visual of the vehicle and are now actively searching for the vehicle. The last confirmed sighting was near the State Route 20 and Highway 101 intersection.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

  1. Is this a joke? How do you “lose sight” of someone doing 100mph on hwy 101?
Also Matt, you need an editor. Or maybe back off the dope you advertise on your site….

  2. Any update to this story?
My husband was headed towards Lakeport on 175 and one of the law enforcement vehicles almost hit him head on coming around a curve on the mountain.

  3. Evidently the 100 mph vehicle was able to achieve what many have failed at, they outran the police/CHP radios!

  4. You’re telling us that a Mercedes’ can outrun a CHP Dodge Charger that’s got a ton of power?? I can see it out running a lake county sheriffs car but not the CHP. Sounds like someone doesn’t know how to drive at high speed. I hope I’m wrong but it just seems strange !!!
